Dear Friends -

Thank you for letting me share my art journey and musings with you.  This year, I have continued my personal art work mainly in pastel and oil painting while still teaching mixed media to my middle and high school art students.

My painting "Iris  in Violet" was selected for the Pastel Society of the West Coast Membership Show.  The Pastel Society of the West Coast was founded in 1984, to promote pastel artists and the soft pastel medium.  As a new member, I am looking forward to the workshops, classes, events and exhibitions offered by this talented collective of pastel artists.  The show will be held at the beautiful Blue Line Arts Gallery in Roseville, California.

The rain is now softly falling outside of my studio window and I will leave you with a wonderful quote by John Ruskin - "Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather."

Wishing you the best in 2014!
